Our clients have to relocate. Mining operations began to affect the stability of the land. The house has become uninhabitable. The ground began to collapse, water comes up to the house itself, the area became waterlogged. The house tilts a few centimeters every year.
When home is no longer safe
The first sign that something is going on is usually innocent-looking cracks in the walls. Then comes the more serious symptoms - the house begins to tilt. In this case, the building has tilted both forward and to the side. By several centimeters, which may not sound dramatic, but in reality means that the structure is losing stability.
The stairs at the entrance had become so lopsided that daily use had turned into a challenge. The road also became deformed, making life in the area even more difficult.
Water problems
Next to the house, puddles began to grow - the water went up higher and higher. This is a typical problem in mining areas, where mining can affect groundwater levels. Residents had to pump the water out regularly, which became part of the daily routine.
Even household appliances, such as a blender, began to "freak out" - probably due to instability of the electrical system in the leaning building.
Decision on demolition
Eventually, the authorities decided to demolish the buildings in the area. The residents were compensated for the loss of their property, allowing them to start a new chapter.
Adaptation and perseverance
Despite all the difficulties, the residents have long tried to adapt. As is often the case, a person can get used to really difficult conditions. Mr. and Mrs. living in the house were coping with the situation and were not going to give up.
Family support and relocation
The difficult situation of moving was helped by the daughter and son-in-law, who organized the whole process. Their goal was also to provide their parents with an apartment closer to each other, making it easier to care for and contact them in the future.
Along with all of his belongings, including his piano, the second move in his life began - this time dictated not so much by a desire for change as by necessity dictated by mining circumstances.
Along with moving the entire house, there was also a piano to be transported.
